General Meetings

Please Note: Due to the Corona Virus situation this year, we will be conducting meetings via the Zoom app.  Additional meetings are scheduled for July and August 2020

General meetings of the JGASGP are held monthly, except for July and August.  Our general meetings feature outstanding speakers and recognized experts from all areas of Jewish genealogy, and are well-attended.  Please visit our website for the dates and times of our meetings.  Most general meetings are held on Sunday afternoons, at one of the following locations:

Congregation Keneseth Israel

8339 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027

(Corner of Old York Road and Township Line Road)

Main Line Reform Temple

410 Montgomery Ave. Wynnewood, PA 19096

On some occasions, meetings will take place at other locations.

Genealogy Help

Are you new to genealogy?  Have you “hit a brick wall” with your research?

Thirty minutes before each meeting, senior members are available to help you with your research.  Reference books are also available for your use at the meeting.

Other Group Meetings

In addition to monthly general meetings, JGASGP sponsors ancillary group meetings and activities targeted to the specific interests of its members.

The South Jersey Affiliate of JGSGP meets periodically at:

Congregation Beth Tikvah

115 Evesboro-Medford Road, Marlton, NJ 08053

Our South Jersey Affiliate Coordinator is Bernie Cedar.  Please visit our home page for meeting announcements.

Russian Interest Group

The Russian Interest Group (RIG) is for JGASGP members who wish to research their ancestors who lived in countries once governed by Czarist Russia.  Meetings of the RIG are held periodically at convenient locations in the Delaware Valley.  Each meeting is a “deep dive” into a topic of special interest for those researching Jewish ancestors who lived in Imperial Russian lands.  For more information, check our home page or contact the RIG Coordinator, David Brill.

German Interest Group

The German Interest Group(GIG) is for JGASGP members who wish to research their ancestors who lived in German-speaking areas of Central Europe.  Currently, JGASGP is seeking a leader for the group.  If you are interested, please contact the JGASGP president.

Need a ride to the meeting?  Please contact our Vice-President for Membership.

Meetings are free for members.  Non-members are charged a $5.00 fee per meeting.
